Many years ago we came upon a government study produced for
the commercial fishing industry. It involved finding the sound
frequencies made by distressed bait fish. The purpose of the
study was to find out if a sound
could be put in the water to attract game fish to a specific
area.
Based on this research Seven Strand put together various sound
devices over the years, but the electronics have always been too
large to fit into a lure. This is no longer true. With the
help of an Aerospace Scientist with 20 years experience in the
design of microwave and millimeter wave electronics we can now
fit everything into a trolling lure.
During the testing of the Sonic EAL (Electronic Acoustic Lure) many species of Billfish have been taken, as well as
other game fish. These include Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish
and many species of Shark. Many anglers have
commented that the EAL is the most effective teaser they have
ever used. A few complained that it seemed the Billfish didn’t
want to get off the teaser and onto the bait.
Size 1 EALs are 10"
Long with a 1" diameter head, Size 3's are 11" long with a
1.25" inch head, and the Size 7's are 14" Long with a 1.5"
diameter head.
Many of our customers swear by these new Lures when they are
fishing for Mako Sharks and local Striped Marlin. We have on
numerous occasions of fish making U turns to get into
the trolling patterns when these lures are used as teasers.
